It seems that the SerComm Upgrade Utility has been removed from the
webpages at www.sercomm.com.

Unfortunaly I have to recover from a bad flash so if someone is
willing to send it to me or give me a link I will be forever grateful.

Lars

I had the same problem. I found a free open source tftp server and
installed it on my windows machine and then telnet into the boot
loader and followed the instructions on the NSLU2-Linux website. it
worked for me since it seems that most ppl have all but forgotten
those of use who use windows and don't have access to extra hardware
to have a linux machine or the funds to go out and buy a mac. with
seeing all these problems with networking and getting into my NSLU2's
with having a windows xp pro machine I'm afraid what the newest
windows bug will be bothersome to work with and all it's problems. I
will be using the tftp server to change my one NSLU2 from Unslung 6.8
to the current version of OpenSlug since it seems I can't do the
change via the web page. I think I got my open source tftp server from
source force but it's been a while since I got it so I'm not sure
exactly where I got it.

I do all of my nslu2-linux development inside a vmware server virtual machine running on a windows xp laptop.
You could easily do the same, for free and with no additional hardware.

I do the same, but I'm using MS virtual PC 2004 and Debian Linux. I
think you can download MS virtual PC for free now from:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtualpc/downloads/sp1.mspx

I generally run the virtual PC with just a basic cosole, and have
installed (using apt-get) samba and ssh. Using these I create a samba
share containing my development files and then edit them locally using
textpad (http://www.textpad.com), kicking off cross-compilation whenever
necessary from the console window.

It's easy enough to use for Windows people. I can't offer any
comparisons with vmware since I have never used it, but I'm pretty sure
it must be similar.
